According to Collider.com on Sept. 7, with the recent barrage of questions asked of Vin Diesel to reveal his contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he's been struggling keeping a lot of secrets from his fans. This burden continues not only through the production of "Guardians of the Galaxy" but also as Marvel Studios makes its way into the future in 2016.
Now, a recent video that's over an hour long gives a refresher when it comes to his involvement as he elaborates about his meetings with Marvel. Prior to this newer content, he had spoken about how he was in talks with Marvel about the future of the Marvel and his involvement prior to being offered the role of Groot in "Guardians of the Galaxy". He cryptically speaks of them "merging brands" between himself and Marvel.
He mentioned that they had spoken to him about phase three and that in this situation, even though that's just something far on the horizon, it still would be best to make this information known to him at ground level.
"When I met with Marvel it wasn't for anything immediate, it was to talk about a film that would be introduced in the Phase 3 part of Marvel, not for a few years. You wouldn't be able to see it for a few years. In my mind, Marvel were doing it right, they were enrolling me at the ground level which is the best way to enroll me".
Diesel was then made aware of the high amount of activity on the Facebook fan page where people were wondering how come he wasn't involved with Marvel and how it would be such a sin without him being included in their future. Diesel then realized there might be something to "this Marvel thing" as he puts it.
"So I was thinking “This Marvel thing is really becoming really important for these people. What can I do? What should I think about?”
Then, something quite notable came across in the interview with Diesel:
"I get the call, I go down to Marvel. A great meeting. It was even talking about something so big I can’t even talk about because it’s like the merging of brands in a way, which I won’t get into. That was something way, way, way, way, way down the road".
