According to the Los Angeles Times on Dec. 21, it's been officially revealed by Marvel Studios that Vin Diesel is now the Groot character in James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy". Diesel will be doing the voice over role for the tree-like alien that is known for his repetitive use of the line "I am Groot!" in the comic books.
Other media have been making their appearances on the internet such as a video of Diesel walking around on stilts and openly talking about "Guardians of the Galaxy" on his Facebook page. He even posted a picture of the Marvel character. The video captured the celebrity talking about his role with some people making a visit to the set. One of the visitors claimed they were impressed with Diesel's ability to use the equipment with such ease.
Bradley Cooper will be voicing Rocket Raccoon in the film who is a furry-like creature from another planet that's been known to have a sarcastic wit about him and packs some serious weaponry.
Also joining the cast will be Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Chris Pratt as Star Lord, and David Bautista taking on the role of Drax the Destroyer. This group of heroes will be facing off against the villain, Ronan the Accuser, who will be played by Lee Pace.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" will be in theaters come Aug. 1, 2014.
