Vin Diesel took to his Facebook page on Dec. 6 to tell his fans what he did when he first learned of Paul Walker's death. "The Fast and the Furious" actor says that he got on a plane headed for Calif. because he wanted to be there for Walker's family... what he soon learned was that he needed their love in support too.
"When I heard, I immediately flew back to California, and went directly from the plane to his mother's house... I thought they needed my strength, but realized when I got there and broke down before his family, that it was I who needed theirs," said Diesel.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker became very close friends -- they were a team on screen and they carried that on off-screen as well. They seemed like the most unlikely brothers but brothers they were... and no one realized that more than Paul Walker's family.
"His mother hugged me and said I am so sorry... I said sorry? You're the mother who lost a son?... She said yes, but you lost your other half... (sic)," read the rest of Vin Diesel's post. While it's so heartbreaking to imagine how broken Walker's family and friends must be... it's beautiful to know that he was so deeply cherished by all who knew him.
Vin Diesel has also gone to Paul Walker's crash site and thanked fans for their support. See that story here.
