Villains Paleo pop-up highlights Southern cuisine

See also

Villains continues their Pop-Up series tonight with guest chefs Charles and Julie Mayfield cooking up a Paleo approach to classic Southern dishes. It all starts tonight at 5:30 p.m. and it lasts until the food runs out, or 10 p.m. Local chefs Charles and Julie Mayfield have authored two cookbooks: Paleo Comfort Foods and Quick & Easy Paleo Comfort Foods and their passion for food leaps off the page.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Paleo way of eating, this lifestyle focuses on consuming lean meats, seafood, vegetables, fruits, and healthy fats, and leaving out gluten grains, legumes, and dairy. People like me who eat gluten free and dairy free can safely enjoy Paleo foods.

I have only been able to enjoy chicken and waffles at home, so it will be a real treat to dine out on them. Check out the menu below and don't forget to order a gluten-free beer or a Paleo-friendly cocktail.

Main Dishes

  • Chicken & Waffles
  • Short Ribs & Dirty Rice

Choice of Sides

  • Fried Okra
  • Collard Greens
  • Loaded Sweet Potato
  • Buffalo Cauliflower
  • Broccoli Salad

Come on out and eat like a Southern Dinosaur!
