The Village Halloween Parade in New York City was cancelled last year due to Superstorm Sandy, but the leaders and volunteers want to forget the past and make this one bigger and greater. This year’s Parade will be on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 7 p.m.
Although superhero costumes are more than welcome at this year's parade, the real superheros will be remembered and honored last year for helping New York City recover from this horrific event. Honorable mentions will include Occupy Sandy, the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center Transplant Team and Jeff Bratcher, a volunteer who donated a kidney to the Parade Director’s son, and many others who have helped keep the parade going all these years.
This year's event will be the most wild event in all of New York City this Halloween. There will be 53 bands with different types of music, dancers and puppets, and don't forget the thousands of New Yorkers and non New Yorkers alike who come in their favorite and most creative costumes.
Only those in costume are permitted to march in the parade so make it a great one! The lineup entrance is on 6th Ave. from the East and South between Canal and Spring streets on Oct. 31, 2013 between 7-9 p.m.
So don't miss this year's Halloween parade in New York City. And since super heroes will be honored this year, it will be neat to see a lot of super hero costumes. Which super hero costumes are recommended for those participating in the parade?
