The Vikings ended their preseason with a 2-2 record after defeating the Houston Texans 28-0 at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome on Thursday night. With almost all starters taking the night off, the second and third team units managed to score four touchdowns and while holding the Texans to only one field goal attempt that hit the upright.
Christain Ponder threw his first touchdown of his pro career to fellow rookie Kyle Rudolph to take the lead in the second quarter. Free agent running back Caleb King ran for 62 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns. Alexander Robinson added another touchdown in the fourth quarter and rushed for 48 yards on 7 carries.
The Vikings will face the San Diego Chargers to start the season on September 11th.
