Indian boxer Vijender Singh will tie the knot with Archana on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in New Delhi. The couple got engaged today. See photos.
Vijender Singh has won the gold medal in last year’s Asian Games and is also the winner of the Bronze medal in the Beijing Olympics. Watch video.
Archana, who is also a relative of Vijender, works with the British High Commission in New Delhi.
One of Vijender's relative told to reporters, "There is an engagement ceremony on May 16 at our village Kulawas and the marriage will be solemnized in New Delhi on May 17. There will be a big reception at our village on May 18. However, it would be a private affair and only select guests would attend it."
A grand reception will be held at Virender's native village in Kulawas. The photos will be uploaded here as soon as they are available.
Vijender returned on Sunday after participating in the Arafura International Boxing Competition held in Australia, where he won the bronze in the 81-kg category.
