Virginia Beach to feature Symphony by the Sea series

If you haven't had enough fireworks during the Fourth of July and other summer celebrations, you can get more in Virginia Beach on Thursday, September 11. The summer resort town won't be ending special events after Labor Day. The Virginia Symphony Orchestra (VSO) has scheduled a Symphony by the Sea on Patriot Day/National Day of Service & Remembrance at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The concert and fireworks take place at the 31st Street Stage at 31st Street and Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach, Va., 23451. The event will close out the Symphony by the Sea series for 2014. The Coast Guard plans to restrict boat traffic in the area to allow the fireworks to go on safely. The fireworks will go on between 9:15 and 9:45 p.m.

Admission is free to this and all six concerts in the series this summer. The series runs on six Thursday nights this summer starting on July 10. VSO will perform four times and Symphonicity twice. Concerts go on from 7:30 to 9 pm generally.
