A candlelight vigil will be held on Saturday evening, at 5 p.m., September 28, 2013 for the puppy known as Puppy Doe. The gathering will be located at Quincy City Hall at 1305 Hancock Street, near the Quincy Center MBTA Station. Parking is available but use of public transportation is recommended. Dogs are welcome as long as they are dog and people friendly.
“Puppy Doe” was found barely alive in Quincy near Whitwell Park after being tortured in unspeakable ways. The young Pit Bull mix had been repeatedly abused and starved. With such gruesome injuries, Puppy Doe was later euthanized.
Investigation by the Quincy Police Department and the Animal Rescue League of Boston is on going. One strong lead indicates that Puppy Doe may have been a dog named Kiya, who was given away via Craigslist. There are, however, other leads the police are following.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact either the Quincy Police Department at (617) 745-5774 or the Animal Rescue League of Boston at (617) 526-5610. A monetary award is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s).
