Vancouver diners have a new tool to help them choose from the city’s growing list of world-class restaurants. View The Vibe, a video restaurant guide firmly established in Toronto, officially launched in Vancouver Wednesday night with a celebration at Granville Island’s Dockside Restaurant.
View the Vibe creates 90-second “movie trailer” style videos to show potential customers what a restaurant is really like. Rather than working with a scripted or staged presentation, they film during a restaurant’s peak opening hours to capture the natural “vibe” of the place. The old saying goes that a picture’s worth a thousand words – well, View the Vibe says a video is worth a million.
At the launch party, founder Nicki Laborie announced that Vancouver favourites Vij’s, Blue Water Cafe + Raw Bar, The Parlour, and Hawksworth are among the local restaurants already on board. You can find videos of these and other Vancouver restaurants at ViewTheVibe.com.
