Once upon a time, Vienna Beef only sold natural casing hot dogs wholesale to hot dog stands and the public in their factory store. But that time is over. Today, Chicago-based Vienna Beef made an announcement on their Facebook page and responded to the call of the people. Natural casing hot dogs are now available in retail grocery stores throughout Chicago-land.
You’ll find these natural casing doggies at Jewel-Osco, Fresh Farms, Mariano’s, Shop & Save, Treasure Island, Sunset Foods, Woodman’s, and Tony’s. They’ll be sold alongside the Vienna Beef skinless dogs.
While response to this new availability has been favorable already -- as evidenced by responses on Facebook -- other areas of the country are left wanting. Is Vienna Beef not in your grocery store? Start asking at customer service, and hopefully they too will take up the call and start selling the true Chicago hot dog.
