What is a gymnast's first thought when it comes to their sport? (Or something else, like, "breakfast"?)
I had the opportunity to play "Word Association" with several Canadian gymnasts, including national champion Madeline Gardiner, Jessica Savona, Dominique Pegg, Shae Zamardi and Kyle Shewfelt, at last month's Canadian Championships, and cut their responses together to make a video, which can be accessed by clicking on the image to the left, or here.
It's an interesting look into the psyche of an elite gymnast (knee-jerk responses to the words "coach" and "2012" were particularly amusing), but mostly just meant to be fun and give these athletes another means of expressing themselves.
