Witnesses from three Wisconsin locations in three separate reports describe unusual lights in the sky on November 15, 2011, with one of those witnesses providing video, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The first witness was driving west along U.S. Highway 10 near the junction of Winnebago County M east of Neenah, at 9:33 p.m. CST in Case 33373.
"One white, circular object about the size of a dime from the observer's standpoint appeared about 15 degrees off the western horizon (straight ahead of the car)," the witness stated.
"Its brightness was roughly comparable to the intensity of a full moon. Within a few seconds, at least three and possibly four other identical white orbs appeared one-by-one in a horizontal line (perhaps 10 degrees in length) which stretched from south to north. They disappeared within a minute, not to be seen again. Observers saw little or no motion in any of the orbs."
The second witness was in Ripon - about 35 miles southwest of Neenah - where the object also appeared in the west. This witness has seen these same objects before.
"These particular objects I have gotten on video basically doing the same thing in 2009 for three days, with our lovely military doing there best to chase them with seven or eight fighter jets," the witness stated.
But no military jets appeared this time.
"This time no jets, but the scenario is the same - lights open up in the sky, craft comes out, and lights fade out. The last time I caught it on video it was lighter and you can make out shiny spheres in the video that would light up a little bit when they accelerated or changed direction abruptly.
"Too dark to make that out this time, but what came out definetly strobed kind of like a plane, but different kind of light. I missed four of them for sure when I turned and ran to get the camera, possibly more when I was out of sight, but for sure the first four I saw I didn't get, but could still see blinkys when I got back."
The witness video can be seen on this page - or downloaded directly from MUFON here.
Neenah is a city on Lake Winnebago in Winnebago County, population 24,507. Ripon is a city in Fond du lac County, population 6,828.
A third witness reports being five miles north of Neenah and seeing five or six lights orange in color in Case 33388.
"Almost identical to Case 33373, except I saw five or maybe six orbs move horizontally from south to north," the witness stated. "I was taking my dog out and saw this in the western sky. My observation location is about five miles north of the observer in Case 33373. Also, I noticed that the lights were a little more orange in color."
Wisconsin is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. Wisconsin had 10 reports in October 2011 - the 20th highest reporting state in the nation - while Missouri was the highest reporting state with 75 reports.
You can read more details about other recently reported cases at the UFO Examiner home page.
The above case links are the unedited and as yet uninvestigated reports filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Wisconsin MUFON State Director Vicki LeBlanc investigates and reports back on these cases, I will release an update.
