Las Vegas--With Saturday’s UFC 143 just days away, MMA fans have been given another gift from the fighting gods—episode two of Primetime: UFC 143 Diaz vs. Condit.
Last week (episode 1 video located here) gave us an introductory look at the lives of the glaringly different fighters. For Diaz it offered us the first look into one of the most shrouded men in MMA today. The show, which is shot in the style of the famous 24/7 series on HBO, offered an initial glimpse into the psyche of Diaz, as well as featuring a highlight segment with him and his elementary school teacher.
Episode two takes us deeper into the lives of both fighters. Last week we saw Condit in the gym and with his new family and newborn child. This week we delve into the fighters bond with his semi-famous father, as well as look at his increasingly heated training camp.
Once again the real highlight of the show is the access to the enigma, Diaz. We get to see a great segment on the early years of Diaz, and why it is he fights. And since last week’s segment with the teacher seemed so popular, this week we get another segment with a different teacher--equally as entertaining.
Towards the end we get a friendly reminder from UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre. GSP reminds everyone that the winner awaits his fervor—and he lets everyone know who he will be rooting for.
A great episode indeed, and it leads us wonderfully into the final episode airing later in the week. UFC 143 is this Saturday night on PPV (check your local listings) live from the Mandalay Bay here in Las Vegas.
