The Utah Utes vs. the BYU Cougars game is Saturday at 3 pm at the LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo. These two Utah teams have a long history...a Holy War history, and according to Wikipedia that history dates back to 1896 (that’s not a typo) and the Utes won that one 12-4. Saturday's Utah vs. BYU game can be seen on CBS College Sports and the Mountain station (on Comcast, channel 37).
The Utah team has been called the “godless University of Utah” and is owned by the state of Utah, while Brigham Young University is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS Church).
Saturday’s game has been deemed the Holy War and these two teams have one of the most heated college football team rivalries, according to Wikipedia.
For the first time in four years, Utah and BYU are not fighting over the conference title. The Utes are ranked No. 22 and BYU is ranked No. 18 and they are stuck in a tie for second in the Mountain West Conference.
