Tiger Woods avoids controversy over alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel allegations. Tiger Woods has successfully avoided the controversy over the past few days since his car accident on Friday morning, and the controversy surrounding an alleged affair with party planner Rachel Uchitel.
Monday, Tiger Woods made a statement that he will not attend his own golf tournament, the Chevron World Challenge this week in southern California, nor will he attend the press conference to promote that tournament. Woods has essentially cancelled all tournaments through the end of the year. His next golf tournament would be for the PGA tournament in San Diego in January. By avoiding a public statement, Woods has increased the curiosity about his story, and most likely that curiosity won't stop before January.
On Sunday, Woods made a statement on his website saying that this was personal and private. Woods has always kept his personal life private, and MSNBC reported that his close circle of friends has been extremely loyal to him and that he can count on that same level of loyalty and privacy now.
