With 181 horsepower and 177 lbs-feet of torque working its way through a six-speed manual transmission, the MINI Cooper Roadster S is a wiz-bang package of joy-joy fun. Not only that, the MINI Cooper Roadster S is more comfortable than its closest rival, the Mazda MX-5 Miata.
After a few days with the MINI Cooper Roadster S, I grabbed TFCar.com's intern "Kyle" and we headed out to Nederland, CO. Our MINI Cooper Roadster S had but a few options; yet, it was priced at about $32,000. That's a lot of cabbage for a vehicle in this class, especially because a well optioned Mazda MX-5 Miata runs about $25,000.
The MINI Cooper Roadster S never let the gin on my face go south. It's a playful little thing that absolutely loves to be hustled around corners. It seems that, the harder you go the more the MINI Cooper Roadster S likes it. I only lost traction on gravel and when I was pushing well beyond its limits.
Nederland, CO is a great place to visit and the Peak-to-Peak highway is a fantastic back highway to get you there. I highly recommend topless driving on it.
