Adam Lambert AMA controversy video.  There is a battle brewing in the US over Adam Lambert’s controversial performance on Sunday night at the end of the American Music Awards (AMA). Some people have said that Adam Lambert’s performance was disgusting and tasteless; while others have said they liked it, that it was different and that it wasn’t any more shocking than what Madonna did in the 1980s (to read comments of what people have said, click here).

Before he started to sing on Sunday night Lambert warned the audience “that it was going to get rough”. Throughout the performance Lambert made sexually suggestive moves simulating oral sex, flipped off the audience, and kissed his male keyboard player.  See Adam Lambert's AMA performance in the video below.

On Wednesday, Adam Lambert was scheduled to appear live on Good Morning America (GMA), but GMA cancelled his performance after ABC was flooded with over 1,500 complaints about Lambert’s Sunday night AMA performance.

The Early Show on CBS quickly took advantage of the AMA cancellation and asked Lambert to appear on their Wednesday morning show for a performance and interview to discuss what happened.

Adam Lambert has stated that most of the performance was not planned and he added things as they came to mind that night. Lambert said that he will not be bullied into an apology for his AMA performance.

Are people upset because this is a gay man? No uproar about Madonna, Brittney, Christina, or even Pink and Michael Jackson when they went what would have been considered over-the-top with their performances. Audiences loved them.
The problem seems to be around the fact he is an openly gay man performing.
I am not a fan of his but if the public is going to condemn his performance then we had better be consistent in our responses. As for cancelling his appearances, please, let the guy perform; viewers know that he is going to give them a show, they can watch or not--but don't discriminate.

I believe it is more along the line of discriminating because he is gay. The performance just pushed it over the top. He was loved on Idol and he shoudl still be loved. He didn't just go on Idol and proclaim to the world "Hey im gay". As he has progressed as an artist he grew comfortable in sharing with the world.
