Video: Texas family forced to leave ranch because of drug/human smugglers

The Burns family in Brooks County, Texas, are packing up and leaving their 38,000 acre ranch because the area has become a war zone, thanks to the Mexican drug cartels and illegal aliens crossing on or near their property on a daily basis.

The Burns’ family home has been broken into, their land littered with garbage and the distinct sounds of gunfire can be heard from their front porch.

The ranch, which is located 60 miles from the Mexican border runs alongside Farm Road 755, which law enforcement calls a “main smuggling corridor” for the cartels.

Thanks to our federal government’s unwillingness to defend the American Southwest from the ultra violent cartels, American families are being forced to give up their way of life. It is yet another outrage in this as yet, one-sided war.

Where's FOX news on this? Where's the outrage of patriotic Americans over this foreign u?

I know in the past, one culture you could always count on to 'right a wrong' was the hardcore biker culture! Now that that they're full of gray beards, there's no strong, young men to carry on the mantra.

We have a Communist Plant living in the white house that had his mind bent since he was a child and he has been groomed to be a puppet of people in foreign nations.

We no longer have an America that is THE LAND OF THE FREE (especially in Texas, Arizona and Southern California) and the HOME OF THE BRAVE. Where are the brave ones??

Certainly there's no BRAVE American living or working in the White House. Everyone there is sucking at the tit of "just make sure me and mine are taken care of and we'll sell our souls to you."

I no longer recognize the America I grew up in. I'm so sad.

I was surprised to see this story in the Examiner - but it is about my family and our ranch. I started a blog in July of 2008 and posted until we decided to move in August of 2010 - it just got out of hand. ON my blog, I interview passing by illegals and find drug trucks. I didn't think we would ever move.

Yet again the American citizen is made to suffer. I pray that the drug cartels do not take over any more portions of our country.

I looked but never did find the film footage that was supposed to go along with this very short article. Something just doesn't ring true here that a Texas ranching family would be forced to leave their land and home. I'm just not buying into without a bunch more fact and detail.

Here are some sworn affidavits from law enforcement about our ranch.

Fred Hiker, I live just to the northwest of Tucson Arizona. There are a handful of homes about two miles west of me whose owners abandoned them within the past two years because of this same thing. The brother of a friend of ours has abandoned his home in the Sierrita Mountains directly west of Tucson because of this. I'm truly sorry that folks in the north and east of our country don't understand of believe this, but that doesn't change the facts. It IS happening.

38,000 acre ranch? Isn't that too much land to own?
How does one take care of that much land. I have one acre and it's too much for me.

What are you some kind of liberal IDIOT.

  • Mike H. 1 year ago

Mollie, how much land IS to much? Who decides? Do you need that big a car.... or that big a bicycle....... or home? It takes several acres per steer to enable you to have that steak on your plate at some point. And if you're a vegetarian, the concept still remains.

This happens frequently in Arizona, so I am not surprised it is happening in Texas. A couple of things: Mollie, they don't farm 38,000 aces. It is a ranch. The cattle graze around on it. There is so little plant life that it takes many acres per cow to make a living. There are half-million acre ranches in Texas. Also, the picture, above on the left, is not a picture of the border fence where they live. Where they live, the fence looks like this:

But do want to say her videos are very good. I would like to know where, at Rio Grande City, they are crossing the border into the US and onto her land. If someone was out there running through my internal fences like that, I might be tempted to sit out there with a shotgun to shoot out their tires. Situation is disgusting.

  • Dear LaLydia:
Shoot out their tires? Are you joking??? Are you not aware that these thugs are BEHEADING people and leaving the heads and bodies next to main highways to deter resistance? I have seen the photos and read articles so I know that to be accurate. Plus you may not be aware there was a large battle on the border last year between the Federales and a cartel. Over 300 people were killed and buried in a mass grave. This is WAR not a sadie hawkins dance. Until We the People get that and take a stand it will continue and even escalate. Wake up and smell the gunpowder.

The top picture shows a "gravity fence" with the top bent over.

The idea behind the gravity fence is that your own weight will prevent you from climbing over.

The top is bent over toward the American side because they don't want to insult the Mexicans.

    How nice.

In 1913 'Blackjack' Pershing was sent across the border after Pancho Villa to stop predatory raids in the U.S. Truman, Eisenhower and Hoover deported millions of illegal aliens. Perhaps history needs to be repeated.

  • AmericanMike 1 year ago

The patriots are coming alive on this too. There is absolutely no justification for our citizens to have to relocate if our Federal Government was up to the job. Seems as though we're stretched pretty thin, but the borders of Iraq and afghanistan are showing improvement. Also, Fred click on 2nd picture down on left for video.

We need to deport enmasse like we did before. With all these problems we are having in our entire nation now, how in the world could Napolitano, Holder, Obama, etc., figure we don't have a serious problem at our borders? Do they live in a cave? Exactly what does it take to convince them? We take videos, we have BP and law enforcement documentation and data, we have people killed, shot at, garbage strewn, and signs posted in Arizona regarding the drug cartels. We have tons of illegal drugs and human smuggling being found every single day. I just don't get it. What is their problem....besides suing Arizona? I am so sorry this family is having to move, we here in Arizona understand.

if you own the land lease it to be used as a training ground for Americans to use and hone their militia skills. I know there are many vets out there that would love to camp and hunt rabbit. also a good place to have a base camp for survival training. Do not just abandon the property.

  • Braddy Daddy 1 year ago

A lot of non vets will be happy to camp out a hone skills as well.

Obama should be held responsible for this crap!!! He's the one that should be sending the National Guard or the Army and Marines to the border and protect Americans!!! He's just a big piece of chicken poop!!
