Since we're disenchanted with the NFL playoffs after a certain team's performance Sunday (not mentioning names, but it involved a quarterback who got sacked five times and a game we turned off at halftime), the Australian Open is proving to be a nice distraction. And not because Roger Federer is playing, although we'd be fibbing if we didn't admit that is part of the appeal.
Tennis can be wild and crazy at times, especially when there are, um, equipment malfunctions.
Agnieszka Radwanska gave a clinic on Why Not to Smash Your Racquet into the Ground One Too Many Times during a first-round match again Kimiko Date-Krumm. The 12th seed took her frustrations out on her racquet (and the ground), and a few points later, the head went flying. During play.
With a new racquet in hand, Radwanska went onto beat Date-Krumm just three points later.
Thanks to Frater Primo for sending this to us!
