Video teaches teens how to protect their civil rights

Not that we want our children pulled over while driving, or involved in any potential legal problem, but it happens.

In the video "Busted" filmmakers show two versions of several potential legal scuffles.  Unfortunately, in the video, the teens are behaving in ways that are clearly illegal, which may not sit well with some parents.  However, the film's message shines through.  It's up to us, as Americans, to protect our legal rights.  Police are trained to outwit unsuspecting citizens into giving up our rights to a search warrant (Do you mind if I check your glovebox?) and our right to an attorney (Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?)

The film teaches people how to protect their rights.  It's as useful for teens as it is for parents.  Even the HSLDA teaches parents to greet truancy officers or social workers outside.

In a  2000 article, Chris Klicka advised homeschoolers

"Never let the social worker in your house without a warrant or court order. All the cases that you have heard about where children are snatched from the home usually involve families waiving their Fourth Amendment right to be free from such searches and seizures by agreeing to allow the social worker to come inside the home."
