This morning, The Today Show covered the BYU vs. New Mexico women’s soccer game from last Thursday, in which Elizabeth Lambert made several violent attacks on BYU students. After the video was seen by thousands of people, the public became outraged at why Lambert was only carded once during the game and not suspended. The video below is different than the one circulating the internet, to view the original video, click here.
On Saturday, the New Mexico coach reviewed the video and suspended Elizabeth Lambert, she was suspended from team indefinitely (not the school).
The game took place on the BYU campus in Provo, Utah. The question is where were officials during the game? Why did they only see one of these violent attempts to hurt the BYU players? The hair pulling stunt could have broken the BYU students’ neck, or at least given her whip lash. And why did it take over 24 hours for Lambert to be suspended? Was it only because the media got a hold of the story?
Now, the public is calling for Elizabeth Lambert to be suspended from the school for her actions.
Lambert made a public apology for her actions by stating, "I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept any punishment felt necessary."
Again, this public apology came after she was suspended indefinitely from the team.
UPDATE: The Rhode Island High School girls soccer team got into an all team fight on Sunday night, which ended in one player dragging another across the field by her hair. For more on this story and to watch the video of the fight, click here.

I hope she never is allowed to play collegiate soccer again. If this is "letting emotions get the best of me" take over than someone who is that unstable shouldn't be afforded the opportunity to play at a high level.
This behavior goes far above and beyond "letting emotions get the best of me". Really what an incredibly stupid thing to say. You're a bully and should be treated as one. Which means you are not allowed to play with other athletes. You could have hurt seriously hurt a fellow athelete. You gave absolutely no regard for anyone but yourself. Your fellow teammates included. Shame on the officials for not calling you out and kicking you out. Your a disgrace.
Perhaps Ms. Lambert should sign a contract to "box" with Tanya Harding!
Hey Elizabeth, wanna tug hard on something? Yank your own
f*ck!ng uterus outcha body; your unborn safe-from-abuse children will thank us!!!
Isn't it obvious that this is NOT the first and only time she has perpetrated these illegal crimes against other players? Sports reporters... Pull all prior footage that can yank the credits that put her here so we can get on with playing the game fairly.
In the short video there were four uncarded fouls. The officials should be disciplined.
Way to go, Elizabeth! You just won the Harry Sheer Voice From the Grandstand 2009 "Back-to-the-Drawing Board" Award! Congratulations!
should be thrown out of school
Here's a step in the right direction..........

you should be put in jail for battery..and should be band from all sports.
That she-man makes me sick.. you are not supposed to use your hands!! its soccer!!!
c'mon ladies.
Elizabeth Lambert should be expelled from school and anyone thinking about sending their child to the University of New Mexico should reconsider if the school does not expel her.
