Steve Carell definitely won’t be on the final episodes of The Office as the series comes to a close. The actor was a guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show Friday and it appears his character doesn't fit into the story arc of the finale making it impossible to hit the set once again. While that sounds like a logical explanation of the situation, a throwback answer that had the audience laughing was that he hated his cast members.
"I am not going back, no. I don't like those people,” joked Steve Carell on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I was on it for seven years. I have been telling the press it doesn't work with my character arc. The truth of the matter is they are egregiously horrible human beings.”
Steve Carell was mocking the show because the actor has such close (and obviously tight) ties with the cast. Knowing that the show is ending has to be tough as he was such a foundation for the first part of the series.
