Video shows full World of Chima announcement at Legoland Florida

March 19 marked the eagerly anticipated announcement that the World of Chima is coming to Legoland Florida in 2013. According to General Manager Adrian Jones, the new area will open in July with a boat ride, Speedorz Arena, and an entry portal themed to the Lion Temple. Kids can also meet Laval the Lion Prince and Cragger the Crocodile King in person and enjoy a new Chima 4D movie.

Click the video toward the bottom of this article to see the full announcement, starting with the "mysterious energy surge" reported earlier at the construction. That Legoland Florida video convinced many Chima fans that their favorite animal characters were going to be coming to the park in the new section.

Legoland Florida has expanded rapidly since its October, 2011, opening. The biggest addition was the Legoland Water Park, which opened last year. While the Star Wars section of Miniland USA, which opened in late 2012, was much smaller, it became an instant favorite with both Lego and Star Wars fans. It has elaborate models and animated scenes from all the movies and the Clone Wars TV series.

World of Chima has a TV tie-in, too, and it will be very apparent at Legoland Florida this summer and beyond. Cartoon Network, home of the Chima show, is a partner in the park's new addition. You'll see references to the network there, and TVs will also pop up in other park areas with programming like "Adventure Time."
