Shirley Bassey arriving at the Oscars is a wonderful international moment. Considered one of the most talented entertainers in Europe, not many people know her voice outside of the Bond movie franchise. On Sunday the entertainer hit the Oscars stage at the Dolby Theater for the first time as she performed for the Oscars tribute to James Bond at the 85th Annual Academy Awards.
The Oscar show appearance had her belt out Bond movie theme songs she recorded it was a treat for the fans. Known around the world for her music, in the United States, Bassey’s voice is immediately acknowledged for the theme songs of the James Bond films Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker.
Shirley Bassey is celebrating her career spanning over six decades. She has recorded over 44 albums, sold over 135 million records and has sold out concert halls across the world. In June 2012 performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert.
