Video: Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck portraying President Obama as an anti-Semite

The President should watch his back at these times.  AP Photo Alex Brandon

First the conservatives labeled him a liberal but that was not scary enough.  Then they labeled him a socialist but that did little damage.  Glenn Beck labeled Obama a racist and most people saw that as absurd on its face.  Now, as the videos below demonstrate, the conservative media is trying to label the President an anti-Semite.

Both of the attacks below center around the 'look at who he surrounds himself with" strategy of Obama opponents.  It began when Obama was accused of "paling around" with known terrorists.  The argument is weak as Robert Gibbs demonstrated with Sean Hannity.  Gibbs demonstrated that almost anyone can be condemned using this strategy.  After all, Sarah Palin still is married to a known secessionist.

The reality is that then-Senator Obama and now-President Obama has never shown any hint of anti-Semitism in his actual policies.  Here are some of many examples of how the President has supported Israel or other Jewish interests in his time in office.

The President has publicly declared Israel our "strongest ally" in the Middle East and pledged to continue providing military aid and missile defense technology to Israel.  In his first six months the President has stood by that promise.

Barack Obama was the first to publicly proclaim support for an undivided capital of Jerusalem for Israel.

Barack Obama sided with Israel in the Isreali-Hezbollah conflict along the border of Lebanon in 2007.

Barack Obama has condemned the threat that Iran poses to Israel, made it easier to place sanctions on Iran for their nuclear program, and opposed any compromise toward allowing Iran to become a nuclear state.

- The President pulled the U.S. delegation out of the 2009 Durbin Conference after fears surfaced that the conference could be a platform for anti-semitic speech.

-  And finally, there is the small fact that the President's Chief of Staff and closest adviser, Rahm Emanuel, is himself a Jew and son to a militant Zionist father.  If we judge someone by the company they keep does this not mean the President is actually a friend of the Jews?

Still, in spite of all facts to the contrary Rush Limbaugh makes the following argument by misconstruing the President's statements and policies.

And in this clip Glenn Beck infers the President is anti-Semitic based on the Medal of Freedom ceremony.

Its all about playing all sides against the middle. Bush was supported by Beck and Limbaugh. He allowed the neo-cons, who were almost all zionist jews, to dictate his foreign policy. Now we have Obama who has filled almost every cabinet post with jews. Do the republicans attack him for his policy? No, they call him an anti-semite, even though he would not have been elected without the jews (Axlerod, Emmanuel, Soros, Summers, Rubin, etc.)

This type of propaganda is just more evidence that our country has been hijacked by zionists.

You really are an ignorant blogger. Perhaps the most ignorant I have read.

First of all, "you infer", "they may imply".

Secondly, perhaps you should get off your face and study and read the words of Obama. And study those with whom he associated himself with throughout his life.

A case, in the very least, can most certainly be made, that Obama views his world through a "racial prism". If Beck had stated this, this way, would anyone have noticed? And yet, technically, are they not the same, by definition?

Try being a little bit more informed, instead of acting like the typical liberal, by speaking and attempting to make your arguments with generalities, instead of specifics. The lazy approach to writing, which you constantly demonstrate, is not persuasive.

Beck comes to the table with facts and figures, ad nauseum. His next book will have 25 pages of specific footnotes.

    Beck does his Scholarly homework!

Read the arguments for and against, any position, then judge

pj: Wow. Calm down it will be OK. First, I find it funny how you criticize me for allegedly not doing my home work and making generalizations when you in fact condemn my work without specifically refuting any of the arguments or references in my work. Is this not the pot calling the kettle black? Second, I have seen who Obama associates with, these people include many Jews among his closest advisers as the previous commenter noted. I have read all his statements and been critical of some of the Obama statements. However, on a whole he can hardly be called a "racist" or "anti-Semite." Now may I ask if you have read or heard any of the Obama statements outside of the selective clippings which are masterfully edited by conservative media figures?

PJ, I gotta tell you, I find it very hard to believe that sane any adult could fall for Glenn Beck's over the top views. I suppose there will always be enough people on the fringe to follow lunatics like him.
