Senator Joe Lieberman appeared on Fox News Sunday stating that he plans to investigate if the Army failed to miss signs that Major Nidal Malik Hasan had an extremist view of Islamic ideology.

This comes as people who knew Nidal Malik Hasan are coming forward with what they knew about him. Hasan attended a Virginia mosque (a place of worship) that two of the September 11 hijackers also attended. It is not known if he was associated with the hijackers.

Students that took masters classes with Hasan at a military college in 2007-2008 have been coming forward saying that they made several complaints to superiors about Hasan's anti-American views. They said that Hasan told them Islamic law was better than the US Constitution, and one of them complained to five officers and two civilian faculty members at the university about Hasan’s views. One of Hasan’s instructors at that college, Dr. Val Finnell stated that Hasan gave a presentation that justified suicide bombing.

Joe Lieberman is the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, and said that he will ask Congress to determine if the shootings constituted a terrorist attack.

"If Hasan was showing signs, saying to people that he had become an Islamist extremist, the U.S. Army has to have zero tolerance," Lieberman said on Fox News Sunday. ''He should have been gone.”

13 people were confirmed dead on the Fort Hood Army base in Texas, and 28 wounded after Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly opened fire on Thursday afternoon.

Two of the victims from Thursday’s shooting at Fort Hood in Texas were from Utah; one soldier is dead and the other is in the hospital. Aaron Thomas Nemelka died at the scene, and was from West Jordan, Utah. The families are in shock because they don’t understand how something like this could happen on a military base.

CNN live reported this morning that Hasan is awake and talking.

Why is it that your source links to AOL news and CNN, but it did not provide a link to FOX news even though it was cited?
