The new NWA World Heavyweight Champion is Colt Cabana!
Cabana who was released by WWW in Febuary 2009 and then returned to Ring of Honor and independent action, defeated "Scrap Iron" Adam Pierce last night at the NWA Hollywood TV tapings for the famous 10lbs of gold. This is his first World Championship and draws to a close a long and well delivered storyline between Cabana and Pierce with the NWA World title as the prize.
This Examiner had the sincere honor of meeting Cabana several times while hosting Rumble Radio in Chicago, and found him to be one of the most charistmatic and endearing wrestlers in the game today. As a wrestling fan who has seen Cabana wrestle many times, this is great news. Congratulations to the new NWA World Champion.
