Video: Myrlie Evers Williams’ invocation speech calls Obama the ‘45th president’

Myrlie Evers-Williams had the important job of delivering the inaugural invocation on Monday. The presidential inauguration had the eyes of the nation as well as the world watching the ceremony in Washington. While most thought the ceremony went off without a hitch, the Huffington Post is reporting there was a substantial error in Myrlie Evers Williams’ speech.

The civil rights icon delivered her portion of the program quite elegantly, but when it came to referencing President Barack Obama, she referenced him as the “45th president.” According to historians, the president is the 44th president and is the 43rd person to hold the job.

While historians were all over the inaccurate remark, the citizens of America were delighted to see Myrlie Evers-Williams deliver the remarks. Keeping the diversity of the country, there definitely was all walks of life represented in the speech as the world watched.
