The Miss America pageant is getting closer! The show airs live on Saturday night, but before the final crown is decided, the contestants are deeply involved in the competition at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. On Wednesday night the 2013 Miss America has the second night of competition with the talent competition and the lifestyle and fitness competition winners announced.
Miss Maryland, Joanna Guy, was named preliminary talent winner for her vocal performance. The performance of I Dreamed A Dream during the second night of competition was rousing and got the judges attention. Winning a $2,000 Amway US scholarship and a greater chance of winning the final portion of the competition, Miss Maryland had to be pleased.
Miss Illinois, Megan Ervin, also got the judges attention when she strolled on stage in a two-piece bikini. The woman was the preliminary lifestyle and fitness winner in a well fit Catalina swimsuit. Miss Illinois will receive a $1,000 Amway scholarship for winning the portion of the pageant.
