Howard Stern ripped into Mariah Carey for her drunken acceptance speech at the Palm Springs Film Festival on Thursday morning's Howard Stern Show broadcast.

Mariah Carey received an award for her supporting performance as a social worker in the film 'Precious'.

While Howard Stern is a fan of the film 'Precious,' he stated that Mariah Carey's part was unneccessary at best.

"She does an okay job, but I'm pretty sure anybody could have done this part. She's the least important person in the movie," said Howard Stern on Thursday morning.

Mariah Carey rambled on for almost five minutes at the awards podium and the Palm Springs Film Festival audience eventually revolted and started spontaneously and loudly applauding in an attempt to get Mariah Carey to leave the stage.

"Oh what an insufferable bore...It's such arrogance to make people listen to this drivel," said Howard Stern as the team listened to the Mariah Carey clip.

Howard Stern added: "Trust me. A semi-retarded person could play this role that she had."
