Video: Lauren Johnson, 12-year-old who can't stop sneezing, on Today show

Lauren Johnson, a 12-year-old girl was on the Today show this morning because she can’t stop sneezing. It started about two weeks ago, she hasn’t been able to go to school, and has seen several doctors and no one has been able to help. Lauren sneezes about 8-12 times per minute, and looks like she is miserable.  See video below of Lauren's story.

Lauren's story is so rare (about 40 known cases) that people are fascinated and once the story broke, people have been searching for the video to see what she looks like and what it looks like to constantly sneeze.

Lauren Johnson and her mother came on the Today show this morning in hope that someone who watches the show may be able to help and give her some advice about how to stop it. The doctors have stated that it is an involuntary action that she cannot control; they also believe that it may be psychological and something maybe going on in her life to cause it.

I thought it was impossible to sneeze with your eyes open as hers are every time she sneezes. Fake.

I have a friend (I just spoke to him on the phone) who had the hiccups and couldn't stop. This went on for more than three weeks. The remedy for him turned out to be medication for reflux which he did not know he had. (Nexium and something else.) I wonder if something like this could possibly help Lauren.

    Tourette's!

She says that she can sleep without sneezing. Perhaps if she just takes deep breaths (like you do when you sleep) the sneezing will stop.

Dear Mam, If this comment reaches you then pls mail me at dxnsajid@gmail.com
I am not a doctor, but I would like to suggest you something....It is Black Seed which is mentioned in our holy book "Quran". Black Seed is also known as Black Cumin, Black Caraway Seed, Habbatul Baraka (the Blessed Seed), and by its botanical name "Nigella Sativa". Try to see how it is used and another herbal treatment I would like to suggest is use Ganoderma-reshi mushroom and spirulina.

    Inshallah it will help.
    Thank you

Is it possible she has a form of Photic Sneeze reflex ?
Maybe this a mutation of that genetic disorder ?

She seems to get relief at night, when she sleeps, I would assume there are no lights on at that point, nor is the sun present.

I'm no doctor, but I wonder if this avenue has been looked at.

Black Seed Considered a Universal Remedy

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) said in his divine wisdom about the Black seed

"Use this Black seed, it has a cure for every disease except death". (Sahih Bukhari)

Dear mum of Lauren, I'm very sorry for your daughter and heartly suggest you to go for herbal medicine. Try for what is called BLACK SEED and she will get well
