Video: Kim Peek, the real Rain Man viewing Monday and funeral set for Tuesday

Kim Peek, the man who inspired the main character in the movie "Rain Man," has died at 58 years old. Peek suffered a major heart attack a week ago and was pronounced dead at a Murray hospital, in Salt Lake City.  His funeral has been set for Tuesday. 

Peek was autistic and the inspiration for Barry Morrow to write the script for "Rain Man", the 1988 film that won four Academy Awards.

Kim Peek is survived by his dad, Francis Elvin Peek; mom, Jeanne Willey Peek Buchi; step father, Gordon Buchi; brother, Brian Peek (Elizabeth); and his sister, Alison (Ali) Peek.

A viewing for Kim Peek will held Monday, December 28, 6-8:00 pm at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29 at 12:00 pm noon at the Taylorsville Stake Center, 4800 South 1365 West, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 South Memory Lane (1900 East).
