An outtake video has surfaced of Kate Gosselin denying the request of her daughter Mady for something to drink before conducting a television interview. The video was shown on Access Hollywood, and took place back in January of this year.
While Kate and the kids wait for the interview to start, Mady, sitting directly next to her mother, says that she needs a drink, and injects a bit of kid drama by saying she's "getting dehydrated." Kate, who has become a master at tuning out her kids, gives disjointed answers and it's hard to tell who she's even talking to. Then she requests a bottled water from the production crew, presumably to give some to Mady, but then when it's provided she surprisingly takes a sip herself and puts it away. So Kate's thirst needs to be quenched right away, but Mady can wait. Poor Mady seems like she's in shock that the water didn't make it her way, and she becomes visibly distressed. Kate finally realizes that hey, maybe Mady really is thirsty and reaches for her bottle of water but it's too late -- it's time to go on TV, which is priority #1 in the Gosselin household.

She was ignoring and fobbing her kids off the whole time. Bet her face changed completely once they were "on".
Maddy gets a really hard time, but she is lacking attention and love so much!
If just one of the children is negatively affected by the program the family should stop filming. Maddy appears to be a very unhappy a lot of the time. Just look at family pictures. Does anybody, especially her parents, care? I will not watch the program anymore.
It's awful that Kate thought of herself before her own child but it doesn't surprise it at all. What does surprise me is how long it took others to take notice!
I was disappointed to find out that Jessica Carlson is on staff here. Has anyone read the comments on her blog? It's a love blog for all right wing conservatives but what do you expect from a fan of Jon and Kate Plus 8!
She was trying to prepare the group and, as usual, Mady will go to great lengths to be the center of attention...Kate was taking cues from the crew and not intentionally withholding water...she appears a bit frazzled...for pete's sake... Mady is bratty...she has always been a drama queen...always. She knows how to push her mother's buttons and Kate knows how to read her. She would not endanger her child.
timetostoptheshow, if you actually read any Jon and Kate posts I or my husband have written on our blog, they are far from being a "love fest" for Kate Gosselin. I have no control over whether fans or "haters" decide to show up in the comments, and unlike other Gosselin focused blogs we do not actively censor/delete comments to skew them one way or another. Also, to be fair, there are several Kate detractors that comment regularly. And given how many times "Peachykeen" has told me to "SHUT UP ALREADY!!" in my few short weeks at Examiner.com, it would seem I'm not exactly gushing all over Kate here, either.

I am sick and tired of "liberals" thinking their opinion is the only one that matters. SHUT UP ALREADY!!!Anyone with one eye and half sense that took the time to read more than the author's name on these blogs would know that she is not advocating the Gosselin family...and God forbide that people be drawn to a bucnh of cute kids and their parents and the crazy, little ride of their lives!!! Didn't mean to offend you but I was going by the above bio which says you have been a fan of the show since the first season. Reading your comment to me reminded me of why I chose not to post on your blog which I recently came across through google searches on the Gosselins. All I can say is that here seems to be a lot of Obama bashing along with the Kate bashing. I didn't realize your comments were not moderated, maybe that is why it is considered a "circus".

I'm a fan of the *show* -- meaning, I enjoy watching it. That doesn't mean I'm a "fan" of the Gosselins. I'm a fan of Rock of Love, too, that doesn't mean I don't think Bret Michaels is a pathetic human being. Sorry if I came across as defense in my response to you, but your comment seemed like some sort of attack, especially when you express the notion that somehow I'm not worthy of writing here because of my "love blog." I agree -- there does seem to be a group of conservatives that comment on my blog, but what does that have to do with me? Again, I don't control who goes there -- if somebody wants to gush about Obama as well, they're certainly welcome to.
Timetostoptheshow...what a contradiction...you make NO SENSE...MODERATED COMMENTS??? so only people like you get to speak...also, you can watch a show and be a "fan - an ardent admirer, to stir up", and not be in favor. I believe Jessica fits into the "stirs things up" description of the word fan.

timetostoptheshow, as Jon and Kate related comments on our site are nearing 50,000, there are inevitably going to be some comments posted that are objectionable. The Imperfect Parent site isn't dedicated to Jon and Kate, and I'm certainly not going to make it my full-time profession to read all the comments. If anybody finds something offensive I'm happy to hear from them about it and will usually delete the comment if it is clearly out of bounds and does not conform with our stated guidelines. And I am enjoying my time here, thanks!
It is where people say what they think and unfortunately we live among racist...and someone being a racist covers alot of territory not just someone objecting to the color of my skin. (I am caucasian and southern so there you go...when we lived in Colorado several years ago in a very affluent neighborhood, some people just assumed I was a bigot because I was from the south! They TRIED to talk trash to me only to find out quckly, otherwise. IT WAS INFURIATING!!!) People are always screaming about the right for this and that...well free speech is ours. I DETEST bigotry AND do not TOLERATE it personally. This forum is a free for all and you cannot force an ignorant person to take your point of view. Kate isn't a mother. She doesn't love those kids, just the money and attention they bring. This scene is probably the best snap shot of just what a cold and unmotherly creature Kate is.
Mady is deemed 'bad' by Kate and the TLC film crew (that admit to showing Mady's worst moments). Yet she appears to be a child horrifically aware of the hell her mother has put them in....all for her own white trash skankdom.

Most of the 'Right Wing' conservatives I know think Kate is hellspawn also. From her castrating Jon on TV to her overt cruelty and coldness to her children.
One thing to birth kids, another thing to Mother. She isn't a mother-- she's incapable of feeling or expressing love or care.

I just wish that everyone would leave Jon and Kate alone. Every parents make some kind of mistake. Mady needed a drink of water im sure but Mady is also one of 8 children. If she gave Mady a drink then all of the other children would have wanted drinks too. She knows how to be a mother. Leave her alone.
I agree with Mady where she so accurately said "That's so mean." - I could sort of understand the ignoring a child begging for a drink if there is no time and they are about to go on air, but to ask for water from the crew, take a drink in front of the child and then put the water away - all that was was a power play by Kate, showing the child that SHE was in charge. Reminds me of the movie Matilda when the adults would say "I'm big; you're little. I'm right; you're wrong, and there's nothing you can do about it." Disgusting.
Actually, when I replayed it, I noted that Mady said, "You're really really mean. You drink right in front of my face." Even more proves the point that her mother is being cruel and attempting to display her ultimate power and authority over her children. What a witch.

When I watched this for the first time I thought - great she is getting her child water - then she drinks it herself- unbelieveable- what would have been wrong with the kids having a drink during the interview. I feel sad.
I think everyone needs to leave the poor lady alone! I mean no one is perfect ,I'm not saying it is ok To hit your kids,or no give them a drank when they ask but at the same time No one can say that they never have and if you do your full of it!! Life gets frustrating and with every thing that is going on in her life can you blame her.I just think that the things she might have done wrong are being taken has (oh may God she is such a bad mom) when that most likey isn't the case at all!!They are just making thing seem bigger than the are so they can sell magazines or get more people to watch the show!!!
If you all watch the show then you know that Mady is a complete and total drama queen. That child would drive me absolutely crazy! We don't know what happened before or after this; Mady may have been dramatic and demanding all day and Kate was sick of it. Everyone needs to leave them alone. They aren't perfect and don't pretend to be. They're parents doing the best they can. They may not always make the right choices, but I believe that they are doing what they think is best.
You don't know what was going on before this. Granted, generally families who are in the TV biz have quite different lives. Either way, I wouldn't call it "cruel", but I most certainly wouldn't call it "fair" of Kate to do.
When I first started watching the show - I loved it - I enjoyed the inter-action and family dynamics. When the cheating rumor came out then the family was deemed unfit - kind of not fair...but the more I watch this woman...I think that the celebrity has gone to her head. Her entire look and attitude - she almost is channeling Victoria Beckham with her look. I watched the clip and thought this woman is truly on a power trip. I looked at a mother that I watched season after season and she seems so different than the woman we came to know in the beginning. I also have a large brood of children and yes there are those days when you just can throw in the towel....but I am not being paid to be a supermom and she must realize that her every move will be scrutinized...and think this one she did not even know about! Scary how she interacts with her family!
It's so easy to hate Kate. It's also easy to tell which children she doesn't like. I didn't see any connection at all between Kate and Mady.

Come on people stop being so lame! Especially if you don't know the whole story. Mady is totally a drama queen and Kate is probably use to her complaining all the time that she was paying her no attention...especially when they were about to go on. I mean watch the end. She obviously went down to get the water for her when they told her she was going on the air. She is not denying her kid water....she is doing what she is told to do by the producer of what ever show she was recording. I swear...some people have no lives and nothing better to do that find as much fault in others as possible. Evaluated yourselves.....are you free from fault....I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT!
Yes, Mady is a drama queen and extremely annoying at times. However, for Kate to ask for water, open it, drink some, then put it down and away, all in front of Mady...??? Why?

All I can say is I'm glad i'm not married to her. She talks to Jon like he's one of the kids. I would have left her ass along time ago. Jon seems like a pretty decent father. It's Kates way or no way. I would have been out of that a long time ago.
You do realize that the "disjointed" talking that is referred to is her talking to the producer of the show on an IFB on her ear, right? And that is probably why she wasn't quite paying attention to her child's request for a drink. I've been on IFB before, it's hard to hear and if she was concentrating on that it would have been hard to also concentrate on her daughter...being a drama queen. If you watch the whole video, she does say that they will be bringing drinks in for everyone after the interview...and I bet that she was told to not give the water bottle to Mady because the producer told her to put it away becasuse they were about to hit air.
If she offered water to Mady, the seven other kids would have wanted a sip or thier own water causing a huge commotion. The kids weren't outdoors in the sun that they would NEED water. She asked them to arrange water for the kids after she got hers.
Joan Crawford seems like the Osmond Family mom compared to this self-serving "wanna be". I am sure that the producers of the interview would have given all 8 children a drink if Psycho mom had let them. Instead, her actions just prove what has been there all along .... she has to be in charge! She is a control freak. My advice to Jon....run far,far away and take the kids with you!

What makes her so much more important than those innocent little darlings? One day in the future, when Kate is in a nursing home, barely able to move and begging for a drink, I hope Mady gets a glass of water and pours it out right in front of Kate. Someone needs to remind Kate that there are some things children never forget, especially when it is one video. What goes around, comes around.
gkrc...Mady is SMARY enough to realize what's going on and if you read what anonymous said about Kate having an earpeice in it makes sense...she could not hear Mady and it is apparent that the jackass that released that taping knew full well that she was communicting with the producer and could not hear... AND IT IS NEVER QUIET WITH 8 KIDS!!! Also, the people in the business were doing the coumtdown and you can bet they did not care about the kids or they would have taken care of it...they were going to "air"...and as I said whomever released it is the real "control freak"! Anything foe a nrgative take on Kate.

I am a single mother of 2 boys and yes i agree that no one knows what is really going one, but i dont care who you are or where you are from or if you child is a drama queen, she heard her daughter say that she was thirsty, agreed with her so she asked for a bottle of water, than drank it in front of her without sharing it with her daughter, who had the idea of getting a drink to begin with, i would never do that to my children! i want someone to meet my needs, and its my job to meet theirs! who knows how long that interview was, she just wanted a drink is that really to much to ask, even if she is a drama queen!
