Video: Jon Stewart points out uncivil nature of 'healther skelter' town halls

Jon Stewart illustrates out the uncivil nature of the disruptions.

In this video clip Jon Stewart demonstrates how undemocratic and out-of-hand the town hall protests have truly become.  Some good quotes from the video clip include:

Fox News Analyst:  "Everybody that I have been watching in these town halls has been respectful."

Stewart:  Then you haven't been watching."

(referring to one screaming protester) "Its an interesting point made by Mr. Yellington J. Crazypants."

Obama scary!  Obama make sun go away!"

(mocking Freedom Works Defense for disruptions)  I mean all we're doing is enraging people with misleading information and then having them show up at meetings with the intent of shouting down the speakers and physically intimidating them."

(on Sarah Palin's death panel comment)  I can understand why you resigned down as Governor.  Because that sort of thing is better on facebook than on Governor's stationary."

Other interesting moments included the Jon Stewart crowd cheering when one Republican congressman told his audience to turn off Glenn Beck.  While the Stewart crowd cheered wildly the Republican audience actually booed their own Congressman when he took on Glenn Beck.  This is a clear example of the ideological divide which dominates the health care discussion right now.

Finally, Stewart also pointed out how critical conservative commentator were toward protesters during the Bush era.  Conservatives called the anti-Bush protesters anti-American, zealots, and Nazis in the clip.  So according to these conservative commentators when protesters opposed conservative policies they were dangerous radicals but when they now oppose President Obama they are patriots exercising their democratic rights.  In reality all uncivil and disruptive behavior in these environments should be condemned whether done by the right or the left.

When did criticizing our government officials become “undemocratic”? That is the most undemocratic thing I have ever heard of. Should our founding father have not been critical of the English monarch? You write: “So according to these conservative commentators when protesters opposed conservative policies they were dangerous radicals but when they now oppose President Obama they are patriots exercising their democratic rights.” They were all patriots exercising their right on both sides against a corporate run fascist dictatorship of replica/democrats that are bought and paid for by the international banking cartel. Bush and Obama are both puppets, they both campaigned on the idea of ‘change’ and they both showed that they were liars and war criminals. This is nothing more the continuation of the mainstream media attempting to make this a left-right, conservative-liberal, black-white, etc... issue to keep America divided and controlled.

All politicians are getting yelled at by their constituents. I think we can all agree we don’t want to be ruled by a global government, and we don’t want poison in our food and water. Now if we could just get our elected representatives to listen we might actual save this great nation. We must come together as a nation and stand up for our civil liberties and hold our representatives accountable for their actions.
You only real choice is FREEDOM or TYRANNY?

I am from India and I lived in states for two years .We used o find it hillarious that inspite of having insurance , we had to pay 50 dollars when my husband got flu and on another occasion we wanted an apointments from a MD urologist and we were asked to wait for 2 months.
Even in a developing country lke ours , we have better medicals care . In India , though we do not have any insurance, thanks heavens , a normal doctors visit doesnt cost more than one dollar or a wait of more than 2-3 days , my brothers hernia operation cost him lest than one fourth his monthly salary that too from at one leading hospital in bangalore - dont worry he didnt die from poor quality medical care , he is hale hearty and running in a marathon this year.In my opinion , the repulican argumants now stands at no healthcare for masses and five-star treatment for republican senators.
