Video: Jon Stewart illustrates hypocrisy of Fox News and Glenn Beck on the 9/12 Tea Party Protest

Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck all displayed hypocrisy.

In the clip below Jon Stewart does the best job I have seen so far of demonstating the Fox News hypocrisy in promoting the 9/12 Tea Party Protest.

In the beginning Stewart shows a clip of Michelle Malkin in which she condemns liberal anti-war protesters in 2007 even though she has consistently praised the current protests as normal Americans letting their voice be heard.  It seems that Malkin only truly favors free speech when it agrees with her own speech.

The next segment focuses on Sean Hannity who attacked a liberal activist during the Bush years for signs displaying comparisons of Hitler and President Bush.  Hannity pressured the liberal activist to distance himself from these extremist elements.  At the same time Hannity has refused to distance himself from radical conservative protesters who have displayed signs directly comparing President Obama and Hitler.

The best part of the segment is when Stewart takes on who he describes as America's favorite bipolar TV Host Glenn Beck.  Stewart first shows a clip of Glenn Beck talking about how civil the protests are followed by a clip of some clearly uncivil behavior in the middle of the protest.  Beck likes to focus on only the best aspects of his movements while focusing on the worst of his opposition.

As Stewart essentially proves in this clip Fox News coverage of the 9/12 Tea Party was bias at best and full of intentional distortions at worst.  Even after the protests were over Fox News continued to mislead on the size of the crowd which attended the event.  Fox News can rightly claim to be conservative but "fair and balanced" is something they are certainly not.

Anybody that watches those late night comedians for their news is a moron... mostly liberals... and I just don't care what any of them think.

    NOBAMA!

Fox news is a lobbyist organization for the republican party.... nothing more.

WHO THE HELL CARES ABOUT THE NUMBERS? Our voices have been heard and thinks are slowing and changing just as we demand.

    THAT is all that matters.

Jones is gone, Dashole is out, ACORN/SEIU is having their obit written today............

Keep it up mob, racists and tea baggers and town hallers.
    WE ARE BEING HEARD!!!!

This is craziness. WWGBD (what would glenn beck do)-

Yes, lets egg on racists and mobs. They are people with real values.... like.... keep the white race pure? Lynch the black man?

Jon Stewart has bashed protesters over the last 11 years that have used Hitler as a point of comparison, whether it was aimed at Bush or Obama. He makes fun of Obama too.

To Rob, I say that most people don't watch Stewart for their news. They know the news and then laugh when he makes fun of it because they get the joke having been informed. I would argue that while people shouldn't be getting their news from Stewart, they should also not be getting their news from Olberman, Beck, O'Reilly, Hanity, Limbaugh, Mathews, and the like. And here is the biggest difference between Stewart/Colbert and the others I mentioned: Stewart and Colbert are on Comedy Central (a comedy network) while the rest are on "news" networks. So get it right.

Wow! That was a really great Apples to Oranges comparison.

QUICK!! RYAN, give me a property damage estimate caused by the "radical extremists" at ANY of the Tea Parties EVER held!

    *Crickets*
    *Crickets*

Now, shall we go into the property damage caused by Liberals at say the RNC Confrences?, How about the G8 summit in Seattle? I could come up with DOZENS over the last eight years.

Why is it ok, for you guys to heckle GW Bush at the State of the Union Address (twice), or have your senate majority leader call the sitting president a "liar" and a "looser" on National television, but when a (R) Congressman who had just been called a "liar" by the President Obama in his speech, publically calls out that same President for playing fast and loose with the facts... that's wrong.

I'm sorry, but the hypocrisy lays at the feet of the Dems/Libs who after the last 8 years, are getting a taste of their own medicine, and are now complaining about it.

OK, Doc_Navy. You start listing all the so-called dozens of disruptions that liberals have caused in the past, and maybe I just might believe in you. I don't think you can or will. You people on the right are sickening. You won't take responsibilities for the lies your heroes on the right have spread and have damaged across America. Grow up and get a brain.

Isn't it great that even when you show evidence, some people still won't accept it. I like to call these people the " the sky is purple" people, because no matter how many time you tell them the sky is blue, they won't believe it.

I'm really sick of the small minority of psychotic racist republicans. They get way too much media attention. Fox News needs to serve them KoolAid so they will go away forever.

To all the crazy conservative nuts out there. I seemed to remember not to long ago. How you people were yelling at us for not supporting the Iraq war. ( A war that was not justified for the war on terror. I mean were there any weapons of mass destruction?) And how the republican controlled senate spent our money to the point we were broke. I've seen the conservative way of life...It's a cross between of the "Leave it to Beaver" show , and "The Jimmy Baker show" on P.C.P. We would be in constant fear all the time, and we would isolated from the rest of the world. While the big rich guy is rubbing his genitals. No thanks, but we already went down that path with Bushy boy, and it failed big time.
