Video: Jimmie Johnson previews the NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at Kansas

It wasn’t all that many weeks ago that he was counted down and out.

Four time and reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson headed into the Chase for the championship  second in the points; he then promptly stumbled with a 25th place finish at the first race in New Hampshire.  He fell to seventh in the standings and looked as though he would struggle in this year’s 10 race version of NASCAR’s playoffs.

A week later though and suddenly Johnson silenced his critics and fellow competitors by dominating the second race of the Chase at Dover; scoring the maximum points available and moving right back up  to second.

But can he keep that momentum up?

Johnson hopes to prove that to himself and everyone else as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Kansas Speedway and Sunday’s Price Chopper 400. But Johnson said there’s one thing he’s not trying to do this weekend.

"I'm not concerned with 'making a statement,' " said Johnson.”At the end of the day, I'm just concerned about where I am in the points. A lot of that other stuff, if it's in your brain, you're not thinking about the right things.

"We're moving on. We have to go to Kansas and do the job all over again."

That job will be at the 1.5 mile Kansas Speedway Sunday. Join Johnson and Marty Snider as they preview the weekend ahead by clicking on the video icon on left hand side of the page.
