Jerry “The King” Lawler’s heart attack on the live broadcast of WWE's Monday Night Raw in Montreal Monday night was not part of the storyline. The fans realized this was a real situation on Monday night only minutes after the microphone went dead and the commentary stopped, except when Michael Cole made comments on the status of Lawler.
The King will have heart surgery Tuesday after being stabilized and is breathing on his own. With medical treatment, the man who the fans love could be up and around again shortly. Whether he returns to the ring is unknown, but everyone wants to make sure he gets well first as a primary goal.
Jerry Lawler definitely is a legend when it comes to WWE. Fighting only minutes prior to sitting down and providing commentary for the matches, the man was known for a tough showdown and the fans love him. Which is why the shock of a heart attack was almost too real to believe at first, as it could have been part of the storyline, but it wasn’t and it reminded everyone that wrestlers are human too.
Get well soon Jerry Lawler.
