"American Idol" is in full swing for Season 13. The top 8 performed the songs they sang on their original auditions on Wednesday's performances show. Sam Woolf received the fewest votes this week and was subjected to elimination on Thursday's results show. Woolf performed for the save and the judges decided to use their only save for the season. Woolf will continue in the competition next week for where the theme will be 80s week.

LA Music Examiner and TV Examiner spoke with contestant Jena Irene backstage after the show.

The top 8 who will perform again on Wednesday are: Jena Irene, Jessica Meuse, Malaya Watson, Caleb Johnson, Alex Preston, CJ Harris, Dexter Roberts and Sam Woolf.
