On Monday night it was the first time a rapper graced the stage of the New York’s Carnegie Hall. The sold out show of Jay-Z was one that will go down in the record books as the hip hop community makes serious strides in the music industry. Another first that went hand-in-hand with the music was the debut of Glory. Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy inspired the song and the crowd got to hear it live for the first time since her birth.
Backed by a 30-piece orchestra, the entertainer belted out his song for the audience and shared his pride of the newest member of his family. With Beyonce in the audience watching and his friends supporting, the segment was said to be the emotional pivotal of the evening.
The concert also had special guests from other entertainers including Alicia Keys and Nas. The concert, one of two slated supports the United Way of New York City and The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.
