At some point everyone knew a liberal organization was going to start interviewing Sarah Palin supporters to find some embarrassing answers. Indeed the Huffington Post reports that "New Left Media" has produced the clip (watch below) interviewing Palin supporters who waited in line to have their Sarah Palin book signed.
All of the interviewees prove fairly ignorant of Palin's position on issues such as foreign policy and taxes. When asked about Palin many are able to repeat Palin talking points dealing with "freedom", "cutting spending", and "drill baby drill. However when asked for more specifics none are really able explain what Palin would do on a policy front to solve the nation's problems. Many others hold false beliefs such as the myth that America has enough oil to supply our own energy needs. Others believe that President Obama has naturalized illegal aliens and brought about late-term abortions even though no such evidence exists.
To be fair conservatives have produced a similar video of Barack Obama supporters proving that they too can display a great deal of ignorance when asked straightforward questions. The Obama supporters were able to spew off negative facts about McCain and Palin but unable to get many other facts correct when asked about their own candidate. Many even went as far as to attribute embarrassing Obama or Biden quotes to Palin essentially assuming that anything bad must have come from the mouth of Palin.
So what can we conclude based on both videos? Any leader that has a large number of supporters is bound to have many who are not knowledgeable on the issues or facts. In the end these clips prove entertaining and provide useful propaganda for each side but they tell us a little about the leader and his supporters. A much larger survey encompassing a random sample of more people would really be needed before we could conclude who has the "smarter" base of supporters.

Comments
Another conclusion you could draw is that Obama supporters are willing to acknowledge that some one is smarter than they are and vote for them. While Palin supporters support some one of the same base level intellect as themselves.
There's a pattern that liberals have followed for at least as many decades as I have been paying attention and it is this:
They declare that every conservative is stupid.
The title of this article is negative. Most people don't read beyond the title. Another win-win for liberals.

the success of Beck's and Palin's books prove it.
I'm glad Witt also mentioned those many silly YouTube videos that show pre-election Obama supporters claiming Obama will be giving them (taxpayer-funded) handouts in return for their votes or the many Obama voters that have absolutely no clue what he even stands for, but were voting for him strictly because he was black.

did we say thanks?
John McCain is a maverick. Sarah Palin ate a moose.
Walrus;
The proof that liberals have a double standard when it comes to stupidity is:
their selection of, and continued support for OBAMA
(been to 57 states, WWII Auschwitz ignorance, Iran is not a serious threat 'tiny country' argument, 10,000 people in Kansas killed in a storm 'was only 12', too dumb 'or arrogant' to keep his stories 'lies' straight)
and
BIDEN (biggest fool who ever stuck his foot in his mouth in DC!)
My conservative bias is well known.
You choose who you are more like! This parasite who voted for ObaMao or the people in line wanting to buy a book?
This wingnut welfare gig is sweet. My backround as a beauty pageant contestant taught me to smile and mouth inanities. Then the rubes buy my book you betcha. Being a governor is like real work and everything also that's why Katie Couric is mean and people call me the quita from wasilla.

the parasite...at least my parasite brain would be bigger.
Honestly, I think this video isn't so much representative of SP supporters as it is representative of the average voter, period. The vast majority of people in this country are not informed on the issues, which is why every big election hinges on something stupid, not substantive.
Tracks well with what studies of news channels viewers have found: Fox News viewers consistently rank lowest on knowledge of political issues and world affairs.
Wow,
Who did that study of news channels viewers, Keith Olbermann?
It isn't possible to be less informed than you are if you only watch the alternatives. Unless you just want to know half of what's going on, then you're all set!
Pew Research Center, Program on International Policy Attitudes, Center for Media and Public Affairs...
all biased, of course - right gigi?
Wow,
I'm really glad you pointed me to the Pew Research Center.
I remember their website with a great illustrating graph showing how Fox News had by far the most balanced coverage of the 2008 election, literally the same amount of positive/negative stories on each candidate, but I'd forgotten where I'd seen it.
The problem with libs is they think if news is EVER positive about a conservative and EVER negative about a lib, then it isn't fair...
Way to pick and choose what you learn from them though! I guess you can be better informed if you watch the network evening news, but you're still only getting one side of each story.
You need to read a little deeper, Gigi - Fox "balance" was hiding the fact that the McCain campaign was repeatedly shooting itself in the foot in the final weeks before the election.
Fox had "balance" only by ignoring the reality that everyone else was reporting.
Wow,
Huh? I haven't got the faintest idea what any of that means; and neither do I care.
We're on to you people who think you're going to turn this country into some weird socialistic regime.
Why on earth you want to is beyond my wildest imagination, but it's not going to happen.
The majority of Americans do not approve of Obama and there are twice as many of us who strongly disapprove than there are of you who strongly approve.
The gigs up on the ACORN scam and the Global Warming hoax and there's an election next year.
You'd better hurry and do as much damage as possile. You're time is very limited.

Witt should have posted this video too. It's one of the best political interviews ever done.
Okay, gigi, I'll try a more simple explanation:
Fox give more positive coverage to McCain in final weeks before election than every other news organization.
Fox ignore/downplay McCain campaign's repeated mistakes and rapidly shrinking support in final weeks before election.
Every other news organization point out that McCain campaign is in disarray and blowing its message in final weeks before election.
Fox NOT 'balanced' - Fox in the tank for McCain, attempting to convince mindless viewers that McCain campaign NOT imploding - when reality was that McCain campaign was in terminal meltdown, as evidenced by election results.
You're so good at connecting dots to find conspiracies, I'm amazed you can't see that equal coverage of unequal campaigns is deliberately misleading.
Wow,
You're right "I can't see that equal coverage of unequal campaigns is deliberately misleading."
(But I know mental contortionism when I see it.)
I know terrorism when I see it.
I know socialism when I see it.
I know corruption when I see it.
I know wasteful inefficiency when I see it.
I know lying when I see it.
I know a power hungry control freak when I see it.
I'm just blind when it comes to seeing that equal coverage is not fair and balanced when it comes to libs and their party's campaign.
Ooooooooooooookay.... even simpler:
How is Fox "balanced" when it failed to provide equal coverage to: Ralph Nader (Independent, Peace and Freedom), Bob Barr (Libertarian), Chuck Baldwin (Constitution/Reform/U.S. Taxpayers), Cynthia McKinney (Green, Independent, Mountain), Alan Keyes (Americas Independent), Gloria La Riva (Socialism and Liberation), James Harris (Socialist Workers) or all the other candidates that got at least SOME votes, according to the Federal Election Commisson?
Fox gave positive spin to a McCain campaign in terminal meltdown; that's hardly 'fair & balanced.'
Wow, (Perfect name for you, by the way)
I never realized how twisted the left thinks til I started 'arguing' with them. How you can 'twist' the fact that Fox News did the same number of positive/negative stories on Obama/McCain, but that isn't fair and balanced....you guys must have every station and every story or you whine like puppies!
Even if we were going to follow your 'leftist' logic and go with:
Fox gave positive spin to a McCain campaign in terminal meltdown; how can you then argue that they should have given more time to the other candidates you listed who had almost 'no' campaign at all?
Glenn Beck really has you pegged in his latest book title! There is no logic or reasoning!
*yawn*
When the reality is that one campaign is hemorrhaging negative events and the other is successfully staying on message and deflecting criticisms - which was the case in the final two months before the election - then it is neither "fair" nor "balanced" to make them appear to be equal.
And ultimately, Fox did no favor for either the McCain campaign or their viewers, who lived in blissful denial of the impending election results.
that's not 'left' or 'right' - it's simple reality.
