As a cast member of "ER, one of the most successful shows on TV history, Eriq La Salle, had plenty of opportunities to see television at its finest. With La Salle playing Dr. Peter Benton, the show went on to receive 23 Emmys during its run from 1994 - 2009. The veteran actor has since moved behind the camera with a turn to directing. He recently directed episodes of "Under the Dome" and the new NBC series, "Crisis," which premieres tonight.

"Crisis" tells the story of a school field trip that goes horribly wrong when the students are kidnapped. These are no ordinary kids, but the sons and daughters of Washington, D.C.'s elite, top-of-their-industry CEOs, international diplomats, political power players, even the President's son. The Secret Service and the FBI must deal with getting them out alive.

Classic TV Examiner caught up with La Salle at an event he attended during Oscar season. Check out our video with interview with La Salle in this page.

"Under the Dome" returns in the summer to CBS.
Catch "Crisis" when it premieres on Sunday, March 16th on NBC.
