Video: Howard Stern thinks Super Bowl parties are 'mental'

Howard Stern won't be attending any Super Bowl XLIV parties this weekend.

Howard Stern isn't against football. He's against being around people. As the Howard Stern Show crew discussed their Super Bowl parties past and present on Thursday morning, Stern said: "I can't even imagine the mentality of a person who has to go to a Super Bowl party.  I don't get it.  I don't like sitting there with a bunch of guys watching the broadcast."

Stern was backed up by Howard Stern Show sound engineer Fred Norris and regular call-in guest and hanger-on Ralph "TechnoBerry" Cirella who both thought the prospect of trying to watch the game in a room with a bunch of yammering dolts more than a little annoying.

Howard Stern Show producer Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate's Super Bowl XLIV party promises to be Stern's worst nightmare. Dell'Abate usually invites about 25 friends over to his home theater to watch the game, and to rest in comfort on one of his many prized marble-topped barstools.

Howard Stern is well-known for his isolative and anti-social-scene tendencies. While his wife Beth O is a New York City socialite, Howard Stern usually likes to stay home and hit the sack early with some chess, a bottle of wine and, of course, the occasional pornographic film.

Howard Stern has stated that he will be rooting for the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV.
