Video: He Kexin's hidden talent

Not only can she do uneven bars really, really well, He Kexin can sing.

Clad in white babydoll dresses and leg warmers, He and teammates Zhang Siqi, Tan Sixin, Cui Jie and Liu Suyuan performed at China's annual Spring Festival at the end of January. He, the reigning Olympic champion on uneven bars, took the central role, showing off an excellent singing voice and what I thought was pretty good stage presence.

In a translated interview that popped up in December, He mentioned that she might like to pursue a singing career after she finishes with gymnastics.

She wouldn't be the first gymnast to do so. 2004 Olympic champion Carly Patterson, Sabina Cojocar and Liu Xuan have also dabbled to varying degrees in the music industry after retiring from the sport.

Note: The gymnasts who perform at the annual Spring Festival are often the top members of the current national team. Look out for all five of them later this year.
