"American Idol" is in full swing for Season 13. The top 8 performed the songs they sang on their original auditions on Wednesday's performances show. Sam Woolf received the fewest votes this week and was subjected to elimination on Thursday's results show. Woolf performed for the save and the judges decided to use their only save for the season. Woolf will continue in the competition next week for where the theme will be 80s week.

LA Music Examiner and TV Examiner spoke with judge Harry Connick Jr. backstage after the show.

"American Idol" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on Fox.

The Top 8 finalists will performed songs for the 80s next week. They are C.J. Harris, Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, Alex Preston, Dexter Roberts, Malaya Watson and Sam Woolf.
