One could guess that it was only a matter of time before Republicans picked up on the "War on Christmas" in some form. Fox News has provided extensive coverage to the supposed war by devoting coverage to such stories as one elementary school that will not allow students to sell Christmas merchandise.
Today Republicans went after the Obama administration for not using the word "Christmas" in their holiday cards. The card reads "Season Greetings." on the outside and "May your family have a joyous holiday season and a new year blessed with hope and happiness." on the inside. As Fox News reports Rep. Harry Brown (R-SC) has criticized the card for not explicitly mentioning Christmas and supposedly limiting the Christmas celebration. To their credit Fox News also reports that Obama is not the first President to omit "Christmas" from the White House holiday card. In fact President Bush also did not use "Christmas" in the 2008 holiday card.
In addition to the holiday card controversy Republicans have also attacked the acorn-shaped cookies at the White House holiday party. Rep. Steve King (R-IA) used his Twitter account to post a picture of the acorn-shaped cookie in question. Fox News then devoted a segment of Fox & Friends the next day to disparage the Obama administration over their choice of cookies.

Ryan Witt now using 'War on Christmas' to attack Fox News.
I love the 'acorn cookie' choice. Says alot about where their heart is, not that they try to hide it....
LOL!!! hilarious if the WH did do that on purpose - throw some crazy tidbit to the rabid right and watch them foam at the mouth.
losers
Mimi,
Funny you'd refer to us as the 'rabid right'. What short memories you have......must come in handy.
Am I the only one who has brought acorn shaped cookies to the cookie exchange? I don't think so! They're always there. I also bring bell and tree shapes, pine cones and occasionally, a few squirrels. I never bring the Santa man or the reindeer-they cling to the inside of the heirloom cookie cutters. Call me names if you don't like the way we celebrate ALL the Christian Holidays of the season. We start with Michaelmas. (Why doesn't everyone? Is it a conspiracy?) At my house, the "Holiday Season" is the season that involves many of the Holy Days-the major ones ending on Epiphany.
Presidential family has yet to chose a church, I guess church is not that high of a priority. "We the people" being called rapid right, now who is the loser.
