Glenn Beck will do anything to try and make President Obama look bad.
Having run out of crazy conspiracy theories to makeup about health care reform in this video clip Glenn Beck turns his attention to the recent Medal of Freedom recipients. In all the President awarded 16 awards to people like the tennis star Billy Jean King and civil rights activists Jospeph Lowery. Some on the list drew some criticism but nothing like the beating Beck gave to a large number of the award recipients in this video
Note how at the beginning of the clip Beck pulls off his classic "I am not saying X, I am just saying X" technique. He states he does not disagree with awarding any of these people the medal he just says he wonders why the President did not mention something ugly about their past while giving them the award. Beck's argument is ridiculous.
There is a time for criticism and a time for praise. Praise is warranted when awarding a significant Presidential distinction. It is hardly appropriate to say "despite all these bad things we are still going to award the Medal of Freedom." When awarding the Oscars does the Academy criticize the actor? If Beck were given a distinction for journalism, I no doubtful but follow with me, would it really be appropriate for the person announcing the award to go over some of his questionable past?
The truth is most people have some part of their lives that someone else would could criticize. Beck certainly has his share of such moments when he himself has acknowledged. To question the President for not bringing up these criticisms in the middle of an awarding a Presidential medal is simply absurd.
The real lie Beck tells in this segment however comes at the end. Beck says the President should listen to one of the recipients, Stephen Hawking, because Hawking could tell something to Obama about the health care debate. I think Beck somehow thought that because of Hawking's condition he would favor Beck's side of the debate. In fact, Hawking has publicly said that without the British socialized system of health care he would not still be around today. So yes Beck, I agree that the President should listen to Hawking. The question is do you still think Hawking is a good example for your anti-socialized medicine argument?

I fully agree with you Tracer although GRush Limbaugh is a hack Glenn Beck is the biggest Hack secret (even more so then Rush)I used to listen to him because he is ball to the walls looney, but now I can onlt stand him for five to ten minutes at a time

It keeps Hawking alive, but it also keeps others around that don't deserve it. Give everyone better food and force businesses/schools to allow people to exercise one hour every day, and 70% of your health care issues would disappear, plus you would have sharper, energized, and happier people in this world.

I've been writing to everyone to get rid of him' his employer, his sponsors even law enforcement bc what he is doing is incitement to violence. When the next mass shooter or bomber shows up I want Beck in the Chair when they strap em in like McVeigh! I want HIM to pay for a change.

Balls to the wall crazy, yeah like a fox, cause he gets PAID to do it. That is what makes it so heinous, he IS stupid, really stupid, but he doesn't do it because of that.....it's the money! Stupid. I am soooo trying to fix that part!
