There are many video games on the market that enable people to enhance their creativity; however, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) has decided to develop a video game that can help prospective students begin a career that enables them to help animals. This video game was designed to simulate a veterinary hospital called the AVMA Animal Hospital.

Players must treat animals for various maladies before time runs out. This game is targeted for children from the fourth to the eight grades; however, anyone can play this game.

One of the best features of this game is the fact that it can be downloaded as an app or downloaded on a computer from the AVMA website for free! The virtual veterinary hospital, developed by veterinarians and Game Gurus, features a veterinary hospital where the player can choose a veterinary model and treat animals brought in by customers. Arrows and highlights guide the player for the purpose of instructing the player on what to do next. The player does a test run, and then Level 1 is initiated. Medical charts give the virtual veterinarian instructions and symptoms are given. The diagnosis and treatment are chosen, and the animal is then treated and taken home. The AVMA site is full of information that helps the player make good decisions while playing the game. This information is also very useful for helping pet owners to learn various subjects that can help them effectively care for their pets and to know when to take the pet to a veterinarian.
