Fox News seems to have found their scapegoat for the senseless rampage at Fort Hood yesterday. This morning when discussing why the shooting may have happened their main topic of discussion was not the alleged shooter himself, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the war in Iraq, or even mental insanity. Instead the Fox News hosts seemed to suggest that Muslim soldiers, and particularly the political correct atmosphere surrounding them, could be to blame.
In the video segment below multiple Fox News personalities suggest that the Army never confronted Major Hasan because they were too concerned with being politically correct. They go on to suggest that it may be time for "special screenings" of Muslim officers. As Geraldo Rivera notes out of four or five million Muslim-Americans Hasan is certainly the extremely rare exception to an otherwise peaceful and productive people. In addition Muslim officers serve in essential roles in the military in helping with translations and cultural understanding as we have hundreds of thousands of troops stationed in the Middle East. Still Rivera gives in to the argument that political correctness may have been the cause of the shootings without any evidence to support that view in this case.

This is NOT the first time a Muslim man in military service has attacked his fellow soldiers.
And there have NEVER been Christian soldiers who have attacked their own-- Um, ah...never mind.
The author is part of the problem by ignoring or "wishing away" the fact this murderer was a terrorist and Jihad supporter. The author and those like him on the the left (as well as Jihad apologists and our current administration) continue the attempt to cover up the Islamic threat and its hostility to, and incompatibility with, Western civilization through political correctness and outright lies and distortions.

Not 'friends' Gigi - fellow soldiers, comrades in arms - that whole band of brothers thing.
Frankly, I haven't seen any 'political correctness' in the treatment of Muslim soldiers - if anything, they've faced extra scrutiny, even though they usually have secret or higher clearances.
Geraldo simply demonstrates again that he's an idiot.

Ok, that's nice that you have 'band of brothers', brand of comrads, heros...who are Muslim, but that has nothing to do with what happened here. And Frankly, you didn't answer my question about what Geraldo said that was unreasonable. You just ignored my question and called him another name.
The politial correctness issues were raised because the suspect had made several known radical Islamic anti-american statements, both on websites and verbally. No security issues seemed to have been raised, or at least no measures were taken, resulting in this horrific scene of terrorism!
It is reasonable to conclude that this was either an inexcusable case of 'politcal correctness' or 'complete incompetence'. Either way, the government failed to protect these defenseless citizens. I can't wait til the governmnent runs my health care and every aspect of my life. It will be great!
I've yet to see any evidence the Army had any idea this guy held radical views - in fact, last I've seen, they had not confirmed yet that the writings on the suspect blog were his.
And he had been in the Army for years; got his medical training from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. On top of that, he was a psychiatrist - which means he himself had to undergo psychiatric counseling.
No one seems to have had an inkling he was going to snap. It wasn't political correctness that let him slip through the cracks; the guy appears to have snapped without a lot of warning.

Jamie: You caught me. The Obama administration gave me your name and IP address and said your criticism of the Fed must be silenced. I have to follow their orders or else I will be picked up by the black helicopters and sent to off to face a death panel. Oh and since I bought a car through cash for clunkers they have taken over my computer so it could be them that are deleting the posts. I guess we will never know!

I had two comments in response to Ryans comments on The FED and to his censorship of my and others posts. one of him saying I had "name-calling" in my posts so I resonded. I noticed that one post had been removed so put up another asking about it. Then my two posts where deleted as were all subsequent posts I made to the thread. It was the one about Beck going in for surgery.

It happened again I posted (less than 1000) a response to your question about Ryans deletion shenanigans. It posted and has since been deleted on THIS thread.
Whatever your "reliable sources" are, Gigi, they certainly are not those of CID or the FBI - the professionals are still digging into Hasan's background to try and figure this out.
The claim that Army leadership would ignore a pending threat because of 'political correctness' is not only contrary to reality (if anything, the tendency is to be overly cautious, sometimes ruining careers) but also an insult to the folks in uniform.
Tell you what, Gigi - go insult your son like that and see how he reacts.

Fort Hood, Texas (AP) reported that Dr. Val Finnell complained to administrators at the Military University in Bethesda, MD while he was studying in a masters program with Hasan 2007-2008, because of the the anti-american rants about the war-on-Islam and other political statements made during the course. Dr. Val Finnell said "The system is not doing it's job." and that he was not surprised when he heard what Hasan had done.
