Erin Andrews has gotten Elisabeth Hasselbeck to do something her co-hosts at The View might have thought was impossible: admit she was wrong.

Dear Elisabeth Hasselbeck: Sexual assault fashion victims need your help!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck offered a tear-soaked apology to the ESPN commentator-turned-Dancing with the Stars contestant Wednesday after controversial comments she made on Tuesday morning's The View.

Hasselbeck boldly criticized Erin Andrews' skimpy Dancing with the Stars costumes and then ridiculed Andrews' for the stalking case that put her on the national map.

"For the past three weeks she's been wearing next to nothing," honked Hasselbeck snottily during Tuesday morning's "Hot Topics" discussion of Dancing with the Stars.  "I think in light of what happened and as illegal and as inexcusable as it was for that guy to peep on her in her hotel room, in some ways, if I'm that guy, I'm like, 'Man, I just could've waited 12 weeks and seen this—a little bit less—without the prison time."

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who is known for giving the conservative angle on The View, immediately drew fire from advocates for women's rights and victims of stalking and sexual assault.

Hasselbeck ate her words during Wednesday morning's Hot Topics segment:

"We talked about Dancing with the Stars yesterday and I went home and wasn't feeling that great about it," said Hasselbeck, and then launched into a soliloquy:  "And I was sitting with Grace, my 5-year-old, and she said: 'Mommy. Why do you look so sad?' And I said: 'Welll Grace today...(starts crying)...Mommy hurt someone's feelings.' And,...oh gosh,...and it's harder when you're explaining it to your kid, but it's a moment I thought I should explain to her, so I-yesterday. When we were talking about Erin, even though I was focused on the detestable criminal who's behind bars, thankfully, and has really made her life a living hell, and-is in jail-I ended up hurting her."

Then Hasselbeck when all Jesus on the issue:

"So I told Grace: 'Mommy feels really bad that I hurt somebody.' So I took out her little devotional that we read and I read her: 'You know Mommy always reads you-'reckless words pierce someone's heart like a sword'-and I told her that and I promised her that I would use my words more mindfully-like I try to do, to build people up, not break them down."

Hasselbeck said that her daughter recommended she call Andrews directly and apologize.  "She's a wise little girl," said Hasselbeck.

The blonde Bush-backer then drew some tepid support from her The View co-hosts.

"We make mistakes on this show period," said Joy Behar, one of Hasselbeck's frequent sparring partners on the morning chat fest.

"It happens," offered Whoopi Goldberg, and then quickly transitioned to another topic.

Though I'm a fan of The View, I'm not a fan at all of Elizabeth...she's too needy and very opinionated to the point every one elses opinions are discounted. I was hoping she'd go to the FOX network, where I feel she'd fit in!

As a Canadian I don't really care one way or another about any of their politics , but I do find it interesting that Elizabeth being the minority is called opinionated , and some of the others who have differing opinions who are just as opinionated do not get that critisim....I think it is quite obvious people are totally swayed by their political opinion and nothing else....
